-- That we may serve faithfully beneath the
banner of the Cross as soldiers of the Lord in the Society which is designated
by the name of Jesus, we pray to the Lord.
-- That we may serve the Lord alone and His Vicar on earth, the Holy Father, in the spirit of the "sensus ecclesiae" we pray to the Lord. -- That we may strive always for the defense and propagation of faith, and for the progress of the people in Christian life and doctrine, as well as for the promotion of justice for all, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may campaign for God under the faithful obedience of the Holy Father, willing to go at once, without subterfuge or excuse, for wherever he sends us, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may be prompt in carrying out our mission, being clad for battle day and night, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may become men who are thoroughly humble and prudent in Christ, we pray to the Lord. -- That the personal love of Christ may unite in us the dialectics of prayer and action, the perfecting of ourselves and of others, the use of natural and supernatural means, unity and pluralism, our efforts and trust in God, poverty and the use of effective apostolic means, local dedication and universalism, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may acquire the "sensus Christi", as St.Paul, and live as Christ lived, so that people may see Christ in us, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may be indifferent, ready and available towards the "magis", to serve in the spirit of obedience, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may be truly "catholic", keeping the interest of the Church and of the whole Society before the local interests of the Province, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may be immune from worldly interest, giving freely what we received, working hard, and ready to go anywhere, we pray to the Lord. -- That the love of Christ may join and keep us together in this "least" Society, which is a community for the apostolate, and give us a keen "sense of the Society" (sensus Societatis), we pray to the Lord. -- That we may have the sensitivity and appreciation for human values, and solidarity with the poor and downtrodden, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may become disciplined, well--formed servants of the Lord, with sound mind and objectivity, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may live with and love the whole concrete Church, the Spouse of Christ and our Mother, hierarchical and lay, official and charismatic, lovingly serving it in spite of its human shortcomings, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may be truly "the least Society", serving rather than dominating, collaborating with others, even anonymously and with simplicity, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may learn the discernment of the spirits, by being in constant colloquium with the Lord, and having the supernatural sense of knowing the will of God, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may excel in obedience, be chaste in our conduct, living only for Christ Our Lord, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may seek and find God in everything, loving Him in all things and all things in Him, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may fix our eyes always on Jesus, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may acquire the true "sensus ecclesiae" and be faithful in obedience and love to the Holy Father, we pray to the Lord. -- That the horizon of our vision may embrace the whole world, so that we may work to make all people one in the fullness of Christ, we pray to the Lord. -- That our hearts may be inflamed with the fire Christ came to spread on earth, so that under the guidance of his representatives we may give ourselves heart and soul to enkindling this fire of love, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may be guided in all things by a right intention, so that in our work we may seek nothing but the honor and service of our God and Lord, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may become instruments in the hand of God, closely united with him through faith and love, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may be clothed in your garments of poverty and humiliation, even if we should seem fools in the eyes of the world, just that we may never betray your friendship, we pray to the Lord. -- That we may work at our task with untiring zeal and a generous heart, so that we may come to know how far your generosity exceeds our own, we pray to the Lord. Let us pray. - Lord God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, you call us to your service though you know how weak we are. Help us to be good soldiers of Christ under the banner of the his cross. Bring to perfection the work you have begun in St. Ignatius and so many of his followers, now acclaimed as saints and blessed. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen A.M.D.G.
