-- For a welcoming Christian attitude towards all refugees and newcomers to Canada,  we pray to the Lord.

-- For growth in appreciation of all of Canada’s cultural communities, we pray to the Lord. 

-- For a truly ecumenical spirit among all Christian traditions, we pray to the Lord.

-- For a truly respectful dialogue with those of other faiths, we pray to the Lord.

-- For the poor, the unemployed and homeless people, that they may     participate in the richness of the country, we pray to the Lord. 

-- For open hearts towards all peoples in Christian Charity, we pray to the Lord. 

-- For the spreading of the message of Christ to all people at home and abroad, we pray to the Lord.

Let us pray.

Eternal God, your reign extends from sea to sea;  you guide all things in wisdom and love.  Accept the prayers we offer for our nation:  grant wisdom to our leaders and integrity to our citizens.  Secure for us always harmony and justice that we may live in unity and peace.  We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.  Amen
